When it comes to weddings (or any event for that), every detail matters. From the décor to the entertainment, couples trust their suppliers to deliver an amazing service, ensuring their special day is perfect. But what happens when suppliers cut corners?

Unfortunately, we’ve seen some shocking examples lately – with wedding season in full swing, it is more important than ever to ensure all wedding businesses focus on the attention to detail. But we’ve seen otherwise around us, and so we highlight exactly why attention to detail and safety should never be overlooked.

Cutting Corners is Not an Option

We recently came across a supplier near us who thought taping down just an inch of a trailing cable was ‘good enough.’ (They actually posted it on social media too!) … Who ever thinks a loose cable on the floor is acceptable is not someone you should be booking!

Another with red carpets so curled at the ends they resembled wafer-thin ham (yes, really).

Catches on the magic mirror broken, or even dirty frames and glass. This has become the acceptable norm with others around us.

And perhaps most concerning – a company using what can only be described as a pillowcase over their flash unit instead of a proper light diffuser. These may seem like small details, but in reality, they pose serious risks, from trip hazards to poor-quality customer experiences. For a wedding, or any event for that matter – safety is the number 1 priority!

At Jellybean, we pride ourselves on going above and beyond to ensure every aspect of our service is polished, professional, and, most importantly, safe. Here’s what sets us apart:

Our Commitment to Safety & Quality

  • Cables secured correctly & discreetly – Every cable is fully taped down with high-quality cloth tape or secured in designated cable covers, eliminating trip hazards. Our team go through strict training, and even before the props are inflated this is the first thing that gets secured when setting up.
  • Pristine presentation – Our red carpets are hoovered and cleaned after every event, undergo a deep clean every week with our VAX carpet cleaners, and are replaced when necessary. If one of them gets damaged even with a piece of chewing gum, they are replaced!
  • Flawless mirror glass – Every magic mirror is cleaned between each booking, ensuring a crystal-clear reflection. We have dedicated lint free cloths and sprays. (We actually demonstrated this on TikTok recently by our wonderful Emma who showed how this was done)
  • Up-to-date systems – We update our software (and Windows) every four weeks, ensuring the latest features and smooth performance.
  • Catches, screws, wheels all replaced – Our in-house tech team replace any damaged catches, screws, wheels and even cables. Everything has a life span but that also means having spares in the office to replace.
  • Professional equipment – No shortcuts. Every piece of our kit is designed for purpose, tested rigorously, and used as intended for the best experience. Even when we get a new piece of equipment, or even an upgrade – these are tested for days.
  • Full Training and Risk Assessment with our team – Our team are employed, and go through rigorous training, expectations and even down to their uniform and timekeeping.
  • Communication with venues and you – We send a lot of emails (and I mean a lot) – plus theres nothing more important than keeping your venues in the loop. When doing your final details form we send an itinerary along with all of our documents to your venue.

Why This Matters for Weddings

A wedding day is a once-in-a-lifetime event. It’s not the time for ‘make-do’ solutions or suppliers who cut corners. The couples who book us know they’re getting not just a fun and memorable experience but one that’s safe, reliable, and of the highest quality.

In fact, at Jellybean, we take these poor industry examples and use them as part of our training – as prime lessons on what not to do. So, to the suppliers cutting corners, thanks for the free training material and for the photos! We use them regularly!! (Awaiting for them to block us on social media now 😉 ) But seriously, weddings deserve better, and we’re here to ensure they get it.

So, when booking wedding suppliers, look beyond the price and the promises. Check how they operate. Are they taking shortcuts? Do they prioritize safety? At Jellybean, we’re proud to say that every little detail is taken care of – because for us, anything less is simply not good enough.

Want to see our meticulous approach in action? Visit us at one of our wedding fayres or book an appointment at our office and see the detail we go to.
