When people think about photo booths and magic mirrors, they usually imagine the fun side of things including those silly props, big laughs, and those memorable prints. But behind every flawless photo and pose with an inflatable banana, is something far less glamorous: a lot of tech, maintenance, and know-how.
Here at Jellybean Photobooth, we don’t just turn up to weddings with working equipment, we make sure it’s built, installed, and maintained thanks to our 10 years in the photo boothing world. That’s how we’ve earned our reputation for being one of the most reliable photo booth suppliers around (not just here in Yorkshire). And recently, that expertise was put to good use when our friends at SnapADo Photo Booths (just down the road from us) came to us for help.
From Blank Shell to Beautiful Booth
SnapADo, based in Stocksbridge, Sheffield, had managed to get hold of a Fotomaster Magic Mirror shell…a top-tier bit of kit, but it came to them as a bit of a fixer-upper. Whilst all of our mirrors here at Jellybean are PBUK, they tend to be built very similar and it was the start of a great project to get SnapADo a great mirror commissioned. A shell’s a great start, but without the right tech, wiring, screens, and calibration, it’s just a fancy mirror with potential.
So Andy from SnapADo reached out to us for support; and of course, we were more than happy to help. After all, we’ve spent over ten years fine-tuning our own equipment and keeping every Jellybean Magic Mirror maintained properly for every single booking. If there’s one thing we know inside and out, it’s how to get a magic mirror working smoothly.

The Build Begins
We kicked things off by stripping the whole shell back to its bones, removing the old brackets, sensors, and glass, and giving everything a full clean-down and reset. The existing touchscreen was beyond saving due to issues with the sensor, so we removed that and replaced it with a brand-new screen and a fresh IR touch overlay, which allows the mirror to function with full touchscreen capability again.
Once the screen and touch overlay were in, we installed a brand-new resetted PC, fully serviced and set up with:
- Autostart configuration
- Remote monitoring software so SnapADo can call on us if anything ever plays up
- All new drivers, software updates, and calibrated touch overlay
- Plus tidy cable management, internal layout.
Next, we cleaned and reinforced the case itself—fixing the catches of the case, replacing the feet, and fitting a new printer door lock to secure it properly. We managed to save a few parts of the mirror including cleaning up some of the metal catches with our wire brush drills to give a brand new shiny appeaance.
Once our work was done on the tech and structure, it was over to Andy for the finishing touches. He gave the mirror a full respray and clean, adding one of his signature-style floral magic mirror frames (I wonder where he got the inspiration from) hahaha! In the end creating a unit that looks and works as good as new.
And trust us…it looks absolutely stunning.
His first booking was out today being at the first wedding outing in Wakefield, with Adam on hand to support with ensuring everything runs smoothly. However everything went great with Andy picking up some great expertise over the past few weeks and getting the knowledge and understanding of the camera settings, ensuring prints look great and delivering a photo booth experience we’d be proud of.

Supporting the Industry from the Inside
This wasn’t just a one-off favour. We’re passionate about helping the wider photo booth community and raising the bar across the board… because let’s face it, the better the industry, the better it is for everyone, including couples. We’ve always been passionate about our service we offer … and the priority is ensuring everyone gets an amazing service (whether it is from us or one of our competitors).
We offer a large range of repair and upgrade services to fellow suppliers… whether it’s a full install like this one, or smaller jobs like:
- Touchscreen replacements or upgrades
- IR overlay calibrations
- PC servicing, installs or rebuilds
- Software setup and remote support
- Fault finding and diagnostics
- General mirror or booth repairs (locks, catches, feet, hinges, doors)
If you’re a photo booth supplier and you’re stuck with a dodgy touchscreen, a mirror that won’t boot, or an old PC that takes 25 minutes to load, get in touch with our expert team. We can help you get it sorted properly, with long-term reliability in mind (just like us)
Why This Matters to Us (and You)
Everything we offer other suppliers is born out of what we demand for ourselves. We don’t send our team to weddings with fingers crossed and a toolkit in the van. We go prepared. Every Jellybean magic mirror, booth and selfie pod is meticulously maintained, regularly serviced, and backed by real knowledge of what to do when things go wrong (because sometimes they do).
And this is why our bookings run smoothly, why our mirrors don’t freeze mid-pose, and why couples trust us to deliver not just the fun, but the flawless execution behind it. Yes it might cost a little extra for a better USB cable, and for decent PCs that can cope with the demand – but this is what you expect when you come to a reputable company like us.
Being experts in our field isn’t just about offering a good service to customers—it’s about helping the industry thrive. That’s why it’s been a joy collaborating with Andy at SnapADo and bringing one more beautiful magic mirror back to life.
So if you’re in the photo booth industry and your kit needs some TLC, or you’ve bought a shell and don’t know where to start…we’re here to help.
Drop us a message, and let’s bring that booth back to life.
And if you’re a couple reading this wondering what all the fuss is about…just know this: when you book Jellybean, you’re booking reliability, experience, and a team who knows this stuff inside out.
Because the last thing you want on your big day? A mirror that won’t start.
