We’re right in the thick of wedding season right now, and honestly it’s our favourite time of year! Our whole team was out across Yorkshire and Derbyshire last weekend doing what we do best – delivering magic mirrors, photo booths, and (most importantly) making memories for our lovely couples, those celebrating their birthdays and of course our corporate partners. From stunning venues to late-night dancefloor selfies, every weekend is fun filled for every one at #TeamJelylbean.
But in between all the excitement, we’ve noticed something a little… familiar. Haha!
The Flattering Side of Frustration
Let’s call it what it is, imitation. We’ve been seeing more and more businesses popping up, some even right on our doorstep, copying our content, our updates, and even our wording. Regular live updates on Instagram, TikTok and Facebook? Been our thing for years. Now, suddenly, it’s theirs too. Even down to the style of writing in their captions.
Now, we know what you’re thinking, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. And while we’d love to sit in that sentiment, the truth is we’ve worked too hard and pushed too many creative boundaries for others to just ride on our coat-tails. We even noticed some wording recently that is a carbon copy of ours.
Creativity Is Baked Into Everything We Do
The thing is, we don’t try to be original – we just are. That’s because originality is in our DNA. Adam – the creative brain behind Jellybean– has spent years working in web design, graphic design, social media marketing and even as a training film creator for Tesco (yep – you can blame him for those loss prevention training videos if you ever worked for the real giant). So when it comes to building a business that’s not only slick and stylish but also fun, flamboyant and just a little bit bonkers – it’s second nature. Plus it’s reflected in our team… I mean have you met Natasha? All of our team are fun, outgoing and go above and beyond for every event.
From our bespoke guestbook gift bags to our personalised USB sticks, right down to the language in our booking forms– we do things our way. Because we believe that the little details matter just as much as the big moments. Even the little email customers get a week after their big day to see how things are going, every part of our business operation has been built from the ground up. And because we do this as a full time operation – we’d say we know a thing or two about running great booths.
Some Snappy Behaviour
We even had one company last year that – let’s just say – thought it was fantastically snappy to lift our terms and conditions, copy our flyers, and pinch actual text from our website. The cherry on the cake? We actually did their wedding. Yep, their business was born out of trying to replicate ours. But here’s the thing – no one can copy heart, energy, or personality. And that’s what truly sets us apart.
We’re Not Just Present – We’re Everywhere
We’re not just a business that turns up and switches on a booth. Or one that wants to have a little dabble in the industry to “see how it goes”. We’re a business that’s built relationships with venues over nearly 10 years, planners, photographers and fellow suppliers who actually know us. We’ve made friends for life, been trusted at the biggest shows, and supported others just as much as we’ve been supported.
Our social feeds aren’t a checklist. They’re a reflection of us – fun, busy, full of banter, and packed with behind-the-scenes action. We’re proud of how much we put ourselves out there, and proud that couples and venues alike choose us again and again. We do our live stream videos, content and those crazy TikTok’s, not because it gets us “views” or for any “algorithm”, but to share with everyone what we actually get up to – and we want to share every bit with you.
So, while others are watching our every move… we’ll keep dancing to our own beat.
